Anthony Marin, Branch Manager of our Santa Cruz Location: Over the past 22 years, Anthony feels that he has had the privilege of pursuing a fulfilling career, one that has allowed him to develop both personally and professionally. Immersed in this industry, each day brings forth new challenges and opportunities for growth.

Anthony derives immense satisfaction from assisting builders, landscapers, and homeowners in realizing their projects. Building lasting connections with clients is particularly rewarding; “it’s not just about fulfilling his job duties, but about fostering genuine relationships that can span many years and contribute to the growth of my branch.” He also appreciates that Big Creek Lumber encourages him to be involved in the community through our School Garden Bed Grant program and as a guest speaker at local schools.

Outside of work, Anthony cherishes spending time his family, indulging in good food, watching movies, working out, and creating lasting memories with his children. For relaxation, Anthony finds solace in fly fishing, with Pyramid Lake, NV being one of his preferred destinations.

George Marovic, Sales Manager of our Watsonville Location: Over the past 12 years, George has grown with Big Creek Lumber. He started at the company as a prior business owner in the Sporting Goods Industry and was easily able to pivot and use his skills in the Santa Cruz location, and then earned a promotion to Sales Manager in Watsonville. Over the last six years, George and Branch Manager, Esther Rocha have assembled one of the most knowledgeable sales teams in the industry.

As Sales Manager, George has contributed to many projects with the company including helping develop Big Creek Lumber’s new mobile app, and sales development training. George stays involved with the community supporting many local projects through donations of materials from Big Creek Lumber. George’s favorite part of his job is assisting contractors and homeowners start projects, selecting the correct materials and seeing their dreams become a reality.

Outside of work, George loves spending time with his long-time girlfriend Julie and his three grown children. He can be found walking on the beach with his dog, working out, BBQ’ing or vacationing in Cabo.

Anthony and George are integral members of the Big Creek Lumber team and welcome all customers into their stores in Santa Cruz and Watsonville.
